We’ve designed not one, but two new ultralight products to release today: New Zealand’s lightest Tarp and Bug Bivy!
Made right here in Nelson, this tarp and bivy setup is the minimalist’s dream. Either can be pitched independently, and either can be paired with most existing tarps or bivys on the market - though why would you want to add the extra weight when you could just get it Kiwi-made?!
This shelter system, or the tarp alone, will be perfect for anyone who wants an emergency shelter on hand even when they plan to stay in the huts (something we highly recommend). It’s also perfect for those who want a complete shelter and are looking to shed some extra weight.

3m x 3m Ultralight Tarp
These ultralight tarps are 3mx3m and made from UltraTNT using fully bonded construction. This fabric won’t rip, doesn’t absorb water, and will never sag or stretch out of shape due to the unique dimensionally stable fiber design.
This large flat tarp can be pitched in a variety of configurations using trekking poles, our folding carbon poles, sticks, or nearby trees.

Can be used either as your emergency shelter or as a complete bug-proof setup when combined with the ultralight bug bivy.
Ultralight Bug Bivy
This ultralight bug bivy (250g total weight) is designed as a minimalist shelter with tie-outs allowing it to be pitched alone or paired with most tarps on the market.
The bivy uses a single zip side entry that opens along the base then up and over the top of the bivy at approximately chest height (when laying flat in the bivy). Corner and peak guylines have Lineloc tensioners attached, and hooks for the peaks to hold the bivy away from your face.

Floor dimensions are 215cm long x 85cm wide (big enough to fit a long wide sleeping pad, and a few bits and pieces).
Peak height is 50cm at head, 40cm at foot
